The neighbourhood of Vanier is part of the city of Kitchener, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Vanier presents property owners with the choice between various means of transportation. Vanier is moderately transit friendly as a consequence of 2 rapid transit stations (Fairway Station and Block Line Station) with access to the ION Light Rail, and about 10 nearby bus lines. Vanier is also conducive to pedestrians; running common errands is convenient without a car. This neighbourhood is moderately cycling-friendly.

Services

It is a rather short trip to access daycares and primary schools from anywhere in Vanier. However, there are no high schools in Vanier. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as food is concerned, a grocery store is generally reachable within a reasonably short walk from any location in this part of the city. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

Vanier is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in this part of Kitchener are very low, as the streets tend to be very peaceful - although that is not the case close to Highway 7, Highway 7 & 8 or one of the railway lines. Lastly, public green spaces, including Wilson Park and Peter Hallman Ballyard / Activa Sportsplex, are very well-situated and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to check out, resulting in them being very easy to get to from many locations within this area.
