Located within the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Bayview is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Bayview. Most properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and it is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. It is inconvenient for people travelling by foot to get around in Bayview as very few daily needs can be carried out without a car. Bayview is also not very cycling-friendly because the bicycling network is not very well-developed, and the area is not especially flat.

Services

Bayview does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, parents and their children may consider it very hard to get to daycares without a vehicle. Regarding eating, doing one's groceries very often requires the use of a car in Bayview. Nevertheless, it is generally a rather short walk to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some staple foods. A limited variety of restaurants is available in this part of the city as well.

Character

Bayview is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Parks are very well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in, making them easy to reach. The noise levels in this area are also reasonably low, as the streets are generally quite calm - although that is not the case closer to Queen Elizabeth Way.

Housing

In Bayview, roughly half of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in the neighbourhood was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder.
