York Ridge

York Ridge is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

York Ridge will appeal to homeowners that appreciate various methods of transportation. The very good public transit infrastructure allows people to get to many destinations without needing a car. In particular, rapid transit stations, including York Mills Station - Southbound Platform and York Mills Station - Northbound Platform on the Line 1 (Yonge-University), are not very far away from the greater part of homes in the neighbourhood. Homeowners benefit from approximately 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally just around the corner. York Ridge is also a fairly convenient part of Toronto for pedestrians; meeting day-to-day needs is easy, and plenty of businesses are reasonably nearby. The bicycle is a fairly poor means of transportation in York Ridge as there is a considerable amount of hills, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. Nevertheless, some bike-friendly pockets exist.

Services

Getting to the nearest grocery store on foot is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in York Ridge. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 40% are renters. The homes in this area are very new, because roughly 45% of its buildings were constructed after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
