West Humber

The neighbourhood of West Humber is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The transit network in West Humber is moderately practical owing to Etobicoke North with access to the Kitchener, and approximately 20 nearby bus lines. On the other hand, there are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of West Humber, despite the fact that many day-to-day needs can be met without a vehicle. Getting around by bicycle is challenging in this part of the city since the topography is not particularly flat, and there are few bike lanes. Thankfully, certain enjoyable areas for cycling can be found. In contrast, cars are an excellent means of transportation in West Humber. It is very convenient to access a parking spot, and the city block layout is well suited for driving.

Services

Getting to the nearest supermarket as pedestrians is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood. There are also a limited number of choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, in West Humber, families will usually be able to get to primary schools without a vehicle. On the other hand, there are only a limited number of high schools and thus they can be an extended trip away. Residents are served by public and private secondary schools.

Character

One of the highlights of West Humber is its broad selection of green spaces. To be more precise, it is very easy to access parks from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are around 30 of them nearby for residents to relax in. However, a large number of streets have fairly bad tree coverage. This area is a great area for those who aren't bothered by a little noise, since during busier hours of the day, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

In West Humber, roughly two thirds of dwellings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters. The buildings in this area are quite old, since about 40% of its dwellings were constructed before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s.
