Sheridan

Sheridan is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the preferred approach to get around in Sheridan. Most homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and it is very easy to come across a parking spot. On the other hand, the public transit service in Sheridan is not particularly frequent. Nevertheless, the closest rapid transit station, including Dundas St W East of Erin Mills Pky, Erin Mills Pky / Fowler Dr and Erin Mills Pky South of Dundas St W with access to the University Express, is usually a short walk away from the greater part of houses in the neighbourhood. Homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. It is occasionally difficult to get around by bike in this area as the cycling infrastructure is sometimes poor, and there are a fair number of slopes to challenge cyclists. Nonetheless, bicycling is more practical in certain areas than others. Travelling by foot is also not very common in Sheridan, although many daily errands can be run without having to resort to a car.

Services

Reaching the closest grocery store by walking is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in Sheridan. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate close by restaurants and cafes. Concerning education, it is a short walk to reach both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in this part of the city. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. In contrast, it can be difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed atmosphere will enjoy Sheridan. Most areas in this area are reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Queen Elizabeth Way. Finally, access to parks in the neighbourhood, including Springbank Meadows and Not Yet Named *(SW of Stavebank and Qew), is very easy since there are approximately 30 of them close by for residents to enjoy.

Housing

In Sheridan, around 55% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place in the 1960s and 1970s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the properties in Sheridan and 30% are rented.
