Sheridan

The neighbourhood of Sheridan is part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. Parking is generally easy, and most properties for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way. On the other hand, public transit users may experience few choices in this part of the city by reason of the low service level. Nevertheless, there are plenty of rapid transit stations with access to the 110 | University Express. There are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most houses are close to a bus stop. Although some bike-friendly areas exist, Sheridan is not particularly amenable to cycling as there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave, and there are few bike lanes. Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are also not particularly suitable for those who travel by foot since few common errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.

Services

Getting to the nearest grocery store on foot is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in Sheridan. There are also about 40 restaurants and coffee shops in this part of Mississauga. As far as education is concerned, in Sheridan, parents and their kids will typically be able to get to both primary and secondary schools by walking. On the other hand, daycares are not particularly numerous and consequently not always within walking distance.

Character

Sheridan offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is quiet, as the streets are tranquil - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially close to Queen Elizabeth Way. Lastly, it is easy to access green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in and reaching a park from the majority of homes for sale is very easy.

Housing

Most housing in Sheridan was built in the 1960s and 1970s, during its most significant construction boom. In this neighbourhood, about 55% of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the units in Sheridan whereas the remainder are rented. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
