The neighbourhood of Ryerson is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the city is an excellent part of Toronto for car-free transportation options. Ryerson is very suitable for those who travel by foot; all daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle, and a very large number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Ryerson is also a very convenient part of Toronto for cyclists. For instance, there is always a bike-share station nearby, and the cycling network is quite comprehensive. Home buyers can depend on public transit to get around in Ryerson as a consequence of Dundas Station - Northbound Platform on the Yonge - University Line, and a few nearby bus lines. On the other hand, moving around by car is sometimes difficult in this neighbourhood. That being said, the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway.

Yonge Street in particular offers a wide variety of nightlife. The greenery in this area is not very prominent; however, parks are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy, which makes them very easy to get to.

Ryerson experienced its largest construction boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. Almost all buildings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in this neighbourhood, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy around 55% of the properties in Ryerson whereas the rest are rented. However this part of Toronto is particularly good for those looking for one bedroom homes.
