The neighbourhood of Port Credit is part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area presents house buyers with the choice between a diversity of means of transportation. The public transit infrastructure in Port Credit is fairly practical. For instance, train stations, including the Port Credit on the Lakeshore West, are not very far-removed from the greater part of homes in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. This area is also moderately suitable for those who like to get around by walking; meeting day-to-day needs is convenient without a car, and many businesses are close at hand. Port Credit is moderately appropriate for bicycling as there are a limited number of elevation changes.

Services

It is very convenient to get to the closest supermarket without a car from anywhere in this part of Mississauga. Likewise, there is often a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. In terms of education, it is a rather short walk to get to schools and daycares from most homes for sale in Port Credit. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found.

Character

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Port Credit. Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially near the railway line. Finally, green spaces, such as Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens and J.C. Saddington Park, are especially well-situated and there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to get to.

Housing

Most dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Port Credit, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This area offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while the rest are owners. About 40% of homes in this area were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
