Transportation

Old Town does not require use of a car as various other means of transportation are accessible. Old Town is an extraordinarily pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; all daily errands can be run on foot, and plenty of businesses are very close by. Owing to a few nearby bus lines, the public transit network in Old Town is great. However, driving is a somewhat poor medium of transportation in this part of Toronto. Nevertheless, it is a short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in Old Town.

It is especially convenient to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from most houses for sale in this part of Toronto. Moreover, there are around 40 restaurants and a few cafes to benefit from in Old Town. An excellent selection of clothing stores is also situated within a very short walking distance. With regards to education, schools and daycares are straightforward to access on foot from anywhere in this area.

Character

Old Town is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this area. Finding things to do in this part of the city is especially easy. There is a broad selection of entertainment venues, the streets are almost always busy with people, and with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located very close by. Most areas in Old Town are quiet, as the streets are quite peaceful. Greenery is not very prominent in this part of the city; however, green spaces are very easy to get to since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover.

Housing

Old Town experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. In this area, the vast majority of dwellings are large apartment buildings, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock.
