Transportation

Old Town presents house buyers with several alternative modes of transportation. With a few nearby bus lines, the public transit infrastructure in Old Town is particularly convenient. This area is also an extremely pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; all daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and there are also countless businesses nearby. Riding a bicycle is reasonably common in this part of the city because there is always a bike-share station close by, and this neighbourhood features fairly good cycling infrastructure.

Schools and daycares are very easy to access on foot from any location in Old Town. As far as food is concerned, it is especially convenient to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from anywhere in this neighbourhood. Character

Old Town is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of Toronto. Finding things to do in this neighbourhood is especially easy. There is an extensive selection of entertainment venues, there are often a very large number of people around, and with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very close by. The noise levels in Old Town are quite low, as the streets tend to be calm. Greenery is not very prominent in this part of the city; although, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to enjoy and they are especially well-situated, making it very easy to reach them.

Housing

Old Town experienced its biggest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this time period. The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Around 55% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 45% are renters. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
