Gateway

Located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Gateway is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

Regardless of the mode of transportation, it is moderately straightforward to get around in Gateway. The good public transit system makes transit a viable option for many by reason of about 10 nearby bus lines. This neighbourhood is also rather amenable to cycling. Getting around on foot in Gateway is not very popular, although many daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle. On the other hand, cars are a great mode of transportation in Gateway. Parking is quite easy, and most houses for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401.

Services

In Gateway, families will generally be able to get to secondary schools and daycares as pedestrians. However, primary schools are not particularly numerous and accordingly tend to require a long walk to get to. Residents are served by public and private secondary schools. With respect to food, home buyers in this area will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather short distance away. Moreover, Gateway is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and there are also approximately 10 cafes in Gateway.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Gateway. Parks, like Dunton Athletic Fields and Not Yet Named (Formerly Hershey Centre Sportzone North), are very well-situated and there are around 10 of them close by for residents to relax in, making them easy to access. Lastly, this part of Mississauga is relatively quiet, due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

Housing

In Gateway, around 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly townhouses. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in Gateway and 15% are rented. The homes in this area are very new, because roughly half of its buildings were built following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s.
