Pleasant View
Pleasant View is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.
Transportation
Driving is a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is very easy to access a place to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 6. On the other hand, this area is not very transit friendly. This part of Hamilton is not very appropriate for biking as Pleasant View has quite poor cycling infrastructure, and bicycling is made strenuous by the typically hilly topography. Pleasant View is also not very suitable for pedestrians as very few daily errands can be run without needing to get in a car.
Services
In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. When it comes to education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this area. Additionally, it can be very difficult to access daycares without a vehicle.
Character
Pleasant View is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. Pleasant View is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue near Highway 6. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, resulting in them being sometimes hard to reach from the majority of locations within this area. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to visit.
Housing
Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this area. Most homes in this part of Hamilton were constructed prior to the 1960s, during its biggest construction boom. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
