The neighbourhood of Orono is part of the municipality of Clarington, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is an extremely good part of Clarington for driving. Nearby highways, such as Highway 35 & 115, are very easy to drive to from anywhere in Orono, and it is especially convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, this part of Clarington is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is generally very close. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Clarington are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot as many daily needs are challenging to meet by walking. Orono is also not particularly cycling-friendly as there are a good number of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad.

Services

Parents and their children will value that no matter where their house is located in Orono, primary schools are close by. In contrast, there are no high schools in Orono.
