The neighbourhood of City Core is part of the city of Cambridge, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Walking is quite practical for home buyers in City Core; carrying out day-to-day needs is easy on foot. In contrast, this part of the city is not especially bicycling-friendly because cyclists are faced with a significant amount of slopes. Thankfully, the bicycling network is well-developed. Cars are a fairly good transportation option in City Core. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, this part of the city is not especially transit friendly. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop.

Services

A supermarket is typically reachable within a short walk from any home in this area. Additionally, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. It is also a reasonably short distance to a good variety of clothing stores. With respect to education, schools and daycares are straightforward to access on foot from most properties for sale in this area.

Character

City Core is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. Public green spaces, like Dickson Park, are especially well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in, making it easy to get to them. This neighbourhood is also good for those who prefer quiet areas, as the streets are generally peaceful.

Housing

In City Core, around 30% of buildings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings, single detached homes, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Around 60% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and the remainder are occupied by owners. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in the neighbourhood was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
