Fairview

The neighbourhood of Fairview is part of the city of Brantford, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Brantford metropolitan area.

Transportation

Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are conducive to people who like to travel by foot; running common errands is convenient without a vehicle. In contrast, Fairview is not especially suited for cycling since there are few bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists. Fairview is especially car friendly. Nearby highways, such as Highway 403, are very easy to reach from any home in this area, and it is convenient to find a place to park.

Services

The nearest grocery store in this part of Brantford is usually only a rather short stroll away. There are also a few restaurants in Fairview. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in this area, both primary and secondary schools are nearby. Families have the choice between public and private elementary schools. On the other hand, daycares are not very plentiful and accordingly tend to require a rather long stroll to get to.

Character

Fairview offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Public green spaces, like Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes it easy to get to them. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets tend to be tranquil - although that is not the case closer to Highway 403.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Fairview is an important part of its character. Most housing in this neighbourhood was built between 1960 and 1980, during its most significant construction boom. This part of Brantford offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
