Midtown

The neighbourhood of Midtown can be found in the town of Ajax, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood offers homeowners the choice between a variety of modes of transportation. Midtown has a fairly good public transit infrastructure. In particular, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Walking is also reasonably feasible for property owners in Midtown; many day-to-day errands can be run on foot. The bicycle is a rather limited mode of transportation in this part of Ajax because there are very few bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of hills.

Services

A grocery store is ordinarily accessible within a rather short walk from any location in Midtown. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and house buyers are served by a few cafes as well. It is also easy to reach a variety of clothing stores on foot. Concerning education, families will welcome that wherever their house is situated in this area, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

Midtown is quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially closer to Highway 401. Parks aren't well-spread out, which makes them very difficult to reach from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

Around 45% of properties in Midtown were built in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. In this part of the town, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, but townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
