Wellington

Wellington is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured way to navigate this community is usually a car. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. Most homes for sale in this part of Halifax are located in areas that are not very conducive to pedestrians as almost no daily errands can be run without a car. Wellington is also not very cycling-friendly since the bicycling infrastructure is quite poor, and there are quite a few elevation changes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Wellington. As far as food is concerned, it is very rarely practical for property owners in this area to do grocery shopping by walking. There are also a few options for those who appreciate restaurants in close proximity.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed ambience will enjoy Wellington. Wellington is especially quiet, as the streets are generally very peaceful. Most locations in the community have fairly good access to green spaces, such as Oaken Hills Park, since they aren't well-distributed. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to relax in.

Housing

In Wellington, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 30% of properties in this area were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the units in the community while the rest are rented.
