Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Oakmount is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Getting around by car is very convenient in this area. It is very convenient to park, and most real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway. In contrast, the public transit system in Oakmount is rather limited. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most houses. It is at times difficult for pedestrians to move around in this part of Halifax as few day-to-day errands can be run without a vehicle. Oakmount is also not very bike-friendly because there are a good number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling network is not very well-developed.
