North Preston

The community of North Preston is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

North Preston is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for driving. Accessing a place to park is easy. On the other hand, this part of the municipality is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. Bicycling is very difficult in this part of Halifax since there are a good number of hills, and there are very few bike lanes. It is also very inconvenient for people travelling on foot to get around in North Preston because almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are very easy to get to by foot from most homes for sale in this part of the municipality. In contrast, this area does not contain any high schools. Regarding eating, a vehicle is almost always required in North Preston to reach the closest grocery store.

Character

The character of North Preston is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. This community is excellent for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets are generally especially peaceful. Finally, parks are very well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore, making it easy to access them.

Housing

The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of North Preston is an important part of its character.
