Lakeview

Lakeview is a community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in Lakeview. It is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of the municipality is quite bad. This community is not very conducive to walking as running daily errands is inconvenient. The bike is a fairly poor method of transportation in Lakeview because there are a good number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling network is not very comprehensive.

Services

Accessing the closest grocery store by walking is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of Halifax. As far as education is concerned, Lakeview does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, there are only a very small number of daycares and accordingly they can be a very long walk away.

Character

Lakeview remains relatively quiet, as there are very few people out and about on the streets. It is sometimes challenging to access green spaces since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

About one quarter of properties in Lakeview were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. The housing stock of this community is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. Roughly 85% of the population of this community own their home and renters make up the remainder. This part of the municipality offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
