Goodwood

The community of Goodwood is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Goodwood is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for moving around by car. It is very easy to park. Goodwood is not especially bike-friendly as there are a fair number of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are also not very conducive to those who travel by foot because almost no common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Goodwood does not have any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, daycares are not abundant and thus tend to require a very long walk to get to. In terms of food, in all cases, a car is needed in this area to reach the closest supermarket.

Character

Goodwood offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of the municipality is very quiet, as the streets are usually very tranquil. Finally, it is very easy to reach public green spaces from most locations in the community, since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out and most houses have a park around the corner.

Housing

In Goodwood, many buildings are single detached homes, but mobile homes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly one third of properties in this part of the municipality were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 95% of the units in Goodwood and the remainder are rented.
