The community of Cherry Brook is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

The preferred way to move around in this community is usually a car. Parking is quite easy. However, this community is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. This community is not especially bicycling-friendly since the bicycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a fair number of hills. It is also very inconvenient for pedestrians to get around in Cherry Brook since almost no daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

In all but a few cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. Regarding education, families will welcome that wherever their house is located in this part of Halifax, both primary and secondary schools are nearby. However, parents may find it very difficult for their kids to access daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm environment will enjoy Cherry Brook. Green spaces are easy to get to since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. This part of Halifax is also very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

In Cherry Brook, about two thirds of buildings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly mobile homes. Around one quarter of properties in this community were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the dwellings in the community and 10% are rented.
