Bedford Hills

Bedford Hills is a neighbourhood in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This area is an extremely convenient part of Halifax for driving. It is very easy to park, and most homes for sale are a short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, the public transit service in Bedford Hills is not very frequent. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Travelling on foot is not very feasible for home buyers in this area since most daily needs are inconvenient to meet by walking. Bedford Hills is also not especially amenable to bicycling as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the cycling infrastructure is rather limited.

Services

Families will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in Bedford Hills, daycares and primary schools are nearby. However, Bedford Hills does not contain any high schools. In terms of food, reaching the nearest grocery store by walking is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in this neighbourhood. Residents of Bedford Hills benefit from a few restaurants as well.

Character

The character of Bedford Hills is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This area is very quiet, as the streets are very calm. Finally, getting to green spaces is easy from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

About three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 60% of dwellings in this neighbourhood, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. About 30% of properties in this area were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
