The community of Queensland is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Queensland is particularly car friendly. It is especially convenient to find a place to park. This part of the municipality is not very suitable for those who prefer to get around by foot since carrying out daily needs is very impractical without a vehicle. In contrast, Queensland is reasonably cycling-friendly.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Queensland. With regards to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in this area to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

Queensland is a fairly good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to check out, including Hubbards Recreation Centre, making it very easy to access them. This part of Halifax is also reasonably good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are generally peaceful.

Housing

The homes in this community are quite old, because around 45% of its buildings were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this part of Halifax. Roughly 85% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
