The community of Goodwood is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Goodwood. It is very easy to park. Most homes for sale in this community are located in places that are not very well-suited for those who travel by foot because carrying out daily needs is very inconvenient by walking. Goodwood is also not particularly amenable to biking as there are a good number of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive.

Services

It is very rarely possible for house buyers in this part of the municipality to purchase their groceries on foot. In terms of education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Goodwood. Moreover, it can be very difficult to access daycares on foot.

Character

Goodwood offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, it is very easy to get to green spaces in the community, since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover and numerous homes for sale have a park nearby.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly two thirds of buildings in Goodwood, whereas the remainder are mainly mobile homes. This part of the municipality also has a choice of housing sizes - there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this part of Halifax. Nearly 95% of the population of this community own their home and 5% are renters. Roughly one third of properties in this area were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
