Transportation

Glengarry is an extremely good part of Halifax for travelling by car. Accessing a parking spot is easy. However, Glengarry is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. It is very impractical for people travelling on foot to move around in Glengarry since meeting daily needs is challenging. On the other hand, Glengarry is very bicycling-friendly.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required in this part of Halifax to access the closest grocery store. With regards to education, primary schools are very easy to walk to from most homes for sale in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, this part of the municipality does not contain any high schools.

Character

Glengarry is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. There are a few parks nearby for residents to explore, including Beechville Lakeside Timberlea School Park, making it very easy to reach them. This area is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Glengarry is an important part of its character. About 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
