The neighbourhood of Southend can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Southend is rather car friendly. Parking is easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from any location in this area. Southend is not particularly cycling-friendly as the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and riding is rendered strenuous by the often steep terrain. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very common in this part of the municipality, although carrying out daily needs is easy without a vehicle.

Services

Purchasing one's groceries very often requires the use of a vehicle in Southend. Nevertheless, reaching the nearest pharmacy and thus some staple foods is generally convenient.
