Islandview

The community of Islandview is part of the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Islandview is an extremely good part of Cape Breton Municipality for moving around by car. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are not very well-suited for people who like to get around as pedestrians as running common errands is nearly impossible without the use of a vehicle. Islandview is also not very amenable to cycling since the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are quite a few elevation changes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Islandview. Furthermore, families may consider it very difficult for their children to access daycares without needing to get in a car. When it comes to eating, home buyers in Islandview almost always have to turn to a vehicle to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

The character of Islandview is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Although the community does not contain any parks, public green spaces aren't well-spread out in nearby communities, which results in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations in this part of Cape Breton Municipality. This area is also very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

The housing stock of Islandview is composed primarily of single detached homes and row houses. Roughly 30% of properties in this community were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of the municipality offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 90% of the population of this community own their home and renters make up the remainder.
