Christmas Island

Located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Christmas Island is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Christmas Island is an extremely good part of Cape Breton Municipality for travelling by car. It is very convenient to park. It is very challenging for pedestrians to get around in this community since carrying out daily needs is nearly impossible without the use of a vehicle. This part of Cape Breton Municipality is also not very amenable to biking as riding is made difficult by the typically sloping topography, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Cape Breton Municipality. When it comes to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries.

Character

The character of Christmas Island is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
