The neighbourhood of Fort Townshend is part of the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is located in the Greater St. John's metropolitan area.

Transportation

Walking is very practical for residents in this part of the city; running day-to-day errands is convenient without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are close by. In contrast, it is at times challenging to commute by bike in this neighbourhood since the cycling infrastructure is not particularly extensive, and the topography is not very flat. Commuting by public transit is difficult in Fort Townshend. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. In contrast, Fort Townshend is a fairly convenient part of St. John's for driving. It is easy to access a parking spot, and it is a very short car ride to the closest highway from any home in Fort Townshend.
