White Hills

White Hills is a neighbourhood within St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is situated in the Greater St. John's metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the best way to get around in White Hills. Many real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, and it is especially convenient to park. In contrast, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Walking is not very convenient for home buyers in White Hills because very few daily needs can be carried out on foot. The bicycle is a rather limited method of transportation in White Hills because bicycling is rendered strenuous by the often sloping terrain, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to primary schools from most homes for sale in White Hills. In contrast, there are no high schools in this part of the city. As far as eating is concerned, reaching the closest grocery store by walking is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in White Hills. There are also a few options for those who value restaurants in close proximity.

Character

White Hills is excellent for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Renters occupy about two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood whereas owners occupy the remainder. In this part of St. John's, a small minority of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place in the 1960s and 1970s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
