Mun

The neighbourhood of Mun is part of the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is located in the Greater St. John's metropolitan area.

Transportation

It is easy for people walking to navigate Mun; many day-to-day errands can be run without a car, and plenty of businesses are fairly close by. Mun is also rather conducive to biking as the cycling network is reasonably good. Mun is not an especially convenient part of St. John's for travelling by public transit. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from about 10 bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. In contrast, cars are a great transportation option in this part of St. John's. Most real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, and it is very easy to park.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to get to as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in Mun. On the other hand, families may find it difficult for their kids to reach daycares without a car. In terms of eating, accessing the nearest supermarket as pedestrians is practical for some, but not all, property owners in this area. Conversely, it is easy to reach the closest cafe as a pedestrian, and a limited variety of restaurants is available in Mun as well.

Character

Mun offers a slower-paced atmosphere. Mun is quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

A majority of the housing growth in Mun took place pre-1960. In this area, about half of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. Around 55% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
