The neighbourhood of Island View is part of the city of Saint John, New Brunswick, which is located in the Greater Saint John metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is very car friendly. Nearby highways are quite easy to drive to from any home in this area, and it is especially convenient to access a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit network in Island View is not very practical. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Island View is not very well-suited for those who travel by foot since many day-to-day needs are difficult to carry out by walking. The bicycle is a fairly poor means of transportation in Island View because there are few bike lanes, and cyclists encounter a considerable amount of elevation changes.

Services

Families will value the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from most houses for sale in this part of Saint John. In contrast, there are no high schools in Island View. With respect to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to do groceries. Nevertheless, it is generally a reasonably short walk to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some staple foods.
