Transportation

The car is very often the preferred transportation option in this part of Saint John. It is very easy to park, and most real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in this area. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. Travelling by foot in this neighbourhood is not very popular, even though many common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are convenient to reach on foot from most properties for sale in this part of Saint John. On the other hand, it can be difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning food, it is convenient to get to the nearest grocery store by walking in this area. A limited variety of restaurants is available in this neighbourhood as well.

Character

Douglas Avenue is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. It is easy to get to green spaces since there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in. This part of Saint John is also quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably calm - however noise can be problematic around the railway line.
