Ridgedale

Ridgedale is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is situated in the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area.

Transportation

Ridgedale is an extraordinarily good part of Winnipeg for moving around by car. It is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway from any home in this area, and finding a parking spot is easy. In contrast, the public transit service in Ridgedale is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and the nearest bus stop is generally very close. Despite the fact that the topography is quite flat, this neighbourhood is not especially appropriate for bicycling because the bicycling network is not very well-developed. It is also difficult for people walking to get around in Ridgedale since few common errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

It is rarely practical for home buyers in this neighbourhood to reach the closest grocery store on foot. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and coffee shops. When it comes to education, families will appreciate that wherever their home is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are nearby. However, Ridgedale does not have any high schools.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Ridgedale. It is easy to reach parks since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. It remains relatively serene in this part of the city, as there are very few pedestrians.

Housing

In Ridgedale, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Around 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of Winnipeg is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the units in Ridgedale and the remainder are rented.
