The neighbourhood of Ridgedale is part of the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is located in the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is especially car friendly. Parking is quite easy, and the majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of Winnipeg is not very accessible. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Despite the fact that there are a limited number of elevation changes, the bicycle is a somewhat poor means of transportation in Ridgedale since the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive. It is also impractical for pedestrians to get around in this area as running common errands is occasionally challenging by walking.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are very easy to get to on foot from any location in Ridgedale. In contrast, there are no high schools in this part of Winnipeg. As far as eating is concerned, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is needed in Ridgedale to access the closest supermarket. There are a few restaurants and cafes in this part of the city.

Character

There is a wide selection of green spaces in Ridgedale. Parks are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, making it easy to reach them. Finally, since there are very few pedestrians, this neighbourhood remains relatively serene.

Housing

Nearly 150% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. The housing stock of this part of the city is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. This area experienced its biggest building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available homes are from this time period. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
