Transportation

Physically active people will welcome the walk-friendly character of this part of the city; most daily needs are convenient to meet on foot. Despite the fact that there are a limited number of slopes to challenge cyclists, Regent is not especially suited for bicycling since the cycling network is not particularly extensive. Public transit riders may have few choices in Regent by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. In contrast, Regent is very car friendly. Most of the street infrastructure is well suited for cars, and it is very easy to park.

Services

Property owners in Regent will welcome that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. Moreover, there are a good number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. When it comes to education, daycares and schools are convenient to reach on foot from most properties for sale in this area.

Character

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Regent. Public green spaces, like Rotary Prairie Nature Park, are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to visit, making them easy to get to. Finally, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of Winnipeg is relatively quiet, although those who are around the railway line may experience higher levels of noise.

Housing

In Regent, around half of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area experienced its most significant construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available homes are from this era. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one third are renters.
