Is there a cost to becoming a technology provider?

Every new technology provider is subject to a $500 onboarding fee. The fee structure can be found here and is based on the number of data feeds you operate.

Do I need to become a technology provider to build websites for REALTORS®?

No, data feeds are usually available from local boards or associations. If you want to work with listing data sourced through REALTOR.ca DDF®, then you must sign a data access agreement with REALTOR.ca DDF®.

What am I allowed to do with the listing data?

Technology providers can build personal websites for REALTORS® only. A full list of rules can be found here.

What listing data can I access?

National Shared Pool: A data feed consisting of participating brokerages from across Canada (except for Quebec and Manitoba).

Member Website Feeds: A data feed consisting of just the personal listings of a REALTOR® or all listing from their brokerage.

What real estate boards do you work with?

REALTOR.ca DDF® is operated by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). We work with all boards and associations in Canada and REALTORS® from these boards choose whether to send their data to other websites via REALTOR.ca DDF®. Currently, Manitoba and Quebec boards and associations do not participate in the National Shared Pool.

What is the difference between IDX, VOW, and DDF®?

VOW – Virtual office websites allow visitors to register with a brokerage’s website using a password and to search the website for MLS® System listings. VOW feeds often include private remarks and sold prices which are governed by different rules than IDX and REALTOR. Ca DDF® data feeds.

IDX – An internet data exchange allows brokerages, through reciprocal agreements, to display each other’s listings on their websites for advertising purposes.

DDF® – Similar to IDX, REALTOR.ca DDF® is for advertising purposes, however only REALTOR.ca DDF® can provide the quantity of listings, the accuracy of data and the level of security that your business requires.

Listing data is updated an average of 46 times per day.
