Gleneagles

The neighbourhood of Gleneagles is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The favoured method to move around in Gleneagles is usually driving. The majority of houses for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, commuting by transit can be challenging in Gleneagles by reason of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. This area is not very suitable for people who get around on foot because many daily needs are difficult to meet without the use of a vehicle. Gleneagles is also not very bicycling-friendly as cyclists are faced with quite a few elevation changes, and the bicycling network is sometimes poor.

Services

Parents and their children will value the proximity to primary schools, which are within a short distance from all properties for sale in this neighbourhood. However, there are no high schools in this part of West Vancouver. In terms of food, the nearest supermarket in Gleneagles is usually only a short stroll away.

Character

The character of Gleneagles is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This area is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, it is easy to reach public green spaces from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to check out.

Housing

In Gleneagles, roughly 80% of dwellings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Gleneagles was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
