Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Gleneagles is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Gleneagles is an extremely good part of West Vancouver for driving. It is a very short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this neighbourhood, and it is very easy to access a parking spot. However, public transit riders may have few choices in this part of West Vancouver due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. Walking is not very feasible for property owners in Gleneagles because most day-to-day needs are challenging to meet without a car. Travelling by bicycle is also difficult in Gleneagles since the cycling infrastructure is somewhat poor, and cyclists encounter quite a few hills.

Services

Families will find that wherever their property is situated in this area, primary schools are nearby. In contrast, there are no high schools in Gleneagles. With respect to eating, it is very easy to reach the nearest supermarket by foot in Gleneagles.

Character

Gleneagles offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This area is very quiet, as the streets are generally very tranquil - although there are still several louder sections, especially near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, there are about 10 green spaces close by for residents to relax in and they are very well-situated, which makes them easy to reach from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

In Gleneagles, roughly 80% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 85% of the dwellings in Gleneagles while the rest are rented. Around one third of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
