Mission Urban

Mission Urban is a neighbourhood within Mission, British Columbia, which is situated in the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is a fairly good part of Mission for driving. Finding a parking spot is easy. However, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, commuters benefit from the Mission City Station Unload Only and Mission City Station Westbound with access to the West Coast Express. The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. Mission Urban is not especially well-suited for those who travel by foot as meeting day-to-day needs is at times difficult by walking. The bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Mission Urban as cyclists encounter a considerable amount of slopes, and the cycling network is rather limited.

Services

Reaching the nearest supermarket on foot is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in this part of the municipality. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, families will value that wherever their home is located in Mission Urban, daycares and schools are close by.

Character

Mission Urban offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as the streets are very peaceful. Lastly, it is easy to get to green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to unwind in.

Housing

In Mission Urban, about 55% of buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of Mission is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters.
