Westhill is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in Westhill. It is especially convenient to park, and most houses for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, the public transit system in Westhill is not very practical. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Getting around as a pedestrian is not very practical for property owners in Westhill as few common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. Cycling is also difficult in Westhill since there are few bike lanes, and there are quite a few hills. Nevertheless, a good number of residents choose to move around by bicycle.

Services

It is a rather short trip to get to both primary and secondary schools from any location in Westhill. However, it can be very difficult to reach daycares on foot. With respect to eating, shopping for one's groceries usually necessitates the use of a car in this neighbourhood.

Character

Westhill offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy. Parks are very easy to reach since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet.

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Westhill is an important part of its character. Notably, this part of West Vancouver is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the dwellings in Westhill while renters occupy the remainder. The homes in this part of the municipality are quite new, since about one third of its dwellings were built between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
