Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Strathcona is a neighbourhood within Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Strathcona is an excellent neighbourhood with regards to travelling without driving. It is very easy for pedestrians to get around in Strathcona; most day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and various businesses are very nearby. Physically active people will also welcome the very bicycling-friendly nature of Strathcona. More specifically, the bicycling infrastructure is fairly good, and there is always a bike-share station close by. The great public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a vehicle due to a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Millennium Line and Expo Line, and approximately 20 nearby bus lines. In contrast, this neighbourhood is not particularly car friendly because coming across a parking spot is not very easy, and it is a very long car ride to the nearest highway from any home in Strathcona.

Services

It is straightforward to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from anywhere in Strathcona. Georgia Street is among the best streets for food stores. Additionally, there is usually a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. With respect to education, it is a short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in Strathcona. Families are served by public and private primary schools. However, parents may consider it challenging for their schoolchildren to reach daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Strathcona is a great part of Vancouver for home buyers who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. This area has numerous streets for those looking for a dynamic vibe. There are often masses of people around, there are numerous nearby entertainment venues, and with its a few nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities. There are approximately 10 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, like Strathcona Park, and they are especially well-situated, making them very easy to access from most locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing
