Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Lake City is a neighbourhood within Burnaby, British Columbia.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured method to move around in Lake City. It is very easy to come across a place to park. On the other hand, Lake City is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, commuters benefit from Production Way-University Station @ Platform 1 and Production Way-University Station @ Platform 2 on the Millennium Line and Expo Line. House owners are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically just around the corner. Lake City will attract physically active people since it is reasonably suitable for biking. More specifically, the bicycling network is fairly good. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very well-suited for walking as many daily needs are inconvenient to meet on foot.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are convenient to get to on foot from most houses for sale in Lake City. However, this part of Burnaby does not contain any high schools. With respect to eating, some home buyers in this area may be able to buy groceries by walking, while others will need a vehicle. There are also a few restaurants and coffee shops in Lake City.

Character

Lake City is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This area is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, it is very easy to get to public green spaces from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in.

In Lake City, a small minority of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant construction boom in the 1980s, so most of the available properties are from this time period.
