The neighbourhood of Gleneagles can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Gleneagles. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, the public transit service in Gleneagles is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. The bicycle is a rather limited method of transportation in Gleneagles since the bicycling network is sometimes poor, and cyclists are faced with quite a few hills. It is also challenging for pedestrians to move around in Gleneagles as very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools are very easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in Gleneagles. However, there are no high schools in Gleneagles. With respect to eating, the nearest grocery store in this part of West Vancouver is typically only a rather short walk away.

Character

The character of Gleneagles is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This part of the municipality is quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, there are about 10 green spaces close by for residents to unwind in and they are very well-distributed, making them very easy to access from the majority of locations in this area.

Housing

About 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. About one third of properties in this part of West Vancouver were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
