The neighbourhood of Downtown New Westminster is part of the city of New Westminster, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area will please homeowners that value a diversity of modes of transportation. Downtown is very suitable for people who get around by foot; many common errands can be run without a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. The bicycle is a good mode of transportation in Downtown as the cycling network is fairly good. Commuting by public transit is straightforward in this part of the city as a consequence of many nearby rapid transit stations on the Expo Line, and a few nearby bus lines. Downtown is also fairly car friendly because it is typically not too challenging to park.

Services

House buyers in this neighbourhood will welcome that a grocery store is always only a very short walk away. In addition, Downtown is a good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe, for example on Carnarvon Street. With regards to education, it is a very short distance to get to daycares and schools from most homes for sale in this part of the city. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.

Character

A good portion of Downtown is quite quiet, however noise can be problematic near one of the railway lines.
