Cypress

The neighbourhood of Cypress is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured approach to get around in this neighbourhood. Most houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, and it is very convenient to park. In contrast, the transit network in Cypress is rather poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. This part of West Vancouver is not very convenient for those who like to travel as pedestrians because carrying out daily needs is difficult without a car. The bicycle is a somewhat poor method of transportation in Cypress as there are quite a few hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is required in this part of West Vancouver to access the nearest grocery store. In terms of education, parents and their children will value that no matter where their property is situated in this area, daycares and primary schools are close by. However, Cypress does not contain any high schools.

Character

Cypress is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. This area is reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually quite peaceful. Lastly, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to check out and they are very well-located, which makes them very easy to get to.

Housing

The housing stock of Cypress is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 15% are renters. This part of the municipality did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new dwellings in Cypress was spread throughout several decades in recent history.
