The best mode of transportation in British Properties is usually driving. It is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as Taylor Offramp Way, from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, British Properties is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most properties. Many of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very conducive to walking as running common errands is occasionally challenging on foot. The bicycle is a fairly poor method of transportation in this neighbourhood because riding is rendered difficult by the typically sloping area, and the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.

It is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools from anywhere in this area. In contrast, this part of West Vancouver does not contain any high schools. Regarding food, it is very rarely practical for house buyers in this part of the municipality to do their grocery shopping by walking.

The character of British Properties is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. There are over 50 parks close by for residents to explore, which makes them very easy to get to. This part of West Vancouver is also very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

British Properties did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new homes in the neighbourhood was spread throughout multiple decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of the municipality is an important part of its character. Around three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
