Bayridge

The neighbourhood of Bayridge can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great mode of transportation in Bayridge. It is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area, and it is especially convenient to find a parking spot. In contrast, residents using public transit may experience limited options in Bayridge due to the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Cycling is challenging in Bayridge because the bicycling infrastructure is rather poor, and riding is rendered difficult by the typically hilly area. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not very well-suited for people who like to travel by foot since many daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are easy to get to on foot from anywhere in this part of the municipality. In contrast, Bayridge does not contain any high schools. Regarding eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to purchase groceries.

Character

Bayridge offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of West Vancouver is quiet, as the streets tend to be calm - although that is not the case around the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, parks are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore, resulting in them being easy to access from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

About 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
