Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is a neighbourhood within Maple Ridge, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in Blue Mountain. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy. However, travelling by transit can be very difficult in Blue Mountain by reason of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood. Most homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not very convenient for walking because almost no daily needs can be met without the use of a vehicle. Blue Mountain is also not very cycling-friendly because there are a good number of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries. Regarding education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Blue Mountain. Likewise, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long walk away.

Character

The character of Blue Mountain is exemplified by its calm environment. There are a few parks close by for residents to check out, including Kanaka Creek and Bcit Woodlot W007, and they are very well-spread out, making them easy to reach. This area is also especially quiet, as the streets are usually very calm.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in the neighbourhood was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
